The lower pumpkin is much larger than most of the ones in this gallery. It is 140 pounds and I am grateful that two nearby grocery stores now carry these beauties. Yes, they are pricey but the walls are 4-5 inches thick and give you so much more shadow in your cuts. Splurge a little…..you have earned it!

This little lady almost ended up with no chin on her right side but I managed to find enough pumpkin to put a strand of hair in her mouth to cover up the unintended gouge. Don’t give up on a pumpkin just because of an inadvertent slip……keep pushing through that little voice that is saying….”arghhh, this is not going to work”

I love this “angry Grandma”….sorry Gram. By starting at the top of the forehead and working down, I was able to leave plenty of pumpkin gor those glorious eye brows. The “hair” comes from a beach walk where I found strips of cedar bark all entwined.
