Have fun creating your own brand of sculpted pumpkins…..no more triangles! Dan the Pumpkin Man enjoys teaching and sharing ways to be creative with stone, wood, and mostly, pumpkins. Whether it be pumpkins you buy or grow yourself, the Fall season gives us great weather to get out there and practice our carving skills.

This particular pumpkin grew to a handsome 84 pounds on my flat roof because I have limited growing space. A rope ladder guided the vines upward and only the fruit at the top was allowed to grow. My cute neighbor fell in love with it so it obviously had to be a Ninja Turtle

There are a variety of large pumpkins you can grow. This one was an “Atlantic Dill” and if I devoted a quarter acre to one pumpkin, it could top over 2,000 pounds! There are more and more larger pumpkin types coming on the market but “Big Max” and “Prize Winner,” both in the 80-120 pound range are my personal favorites.
